original clothing & accessories from vintage kimono material

Vests, shirts, & blouses by
Daniel Eck are made from the finest quality vintage Japanese textiles. Only
natural fibers- mostly silk but also linen, wool & cotton- are used. Even
the buttons are natural; shell, wood or glass (no plastic). Each garment is
unique- guaranteed one-of-a-kind; individually designed and cut by hand.
All the materials are from precious
antique and vintage kimono, obi, and haori. Only beautiful fabrics in excellent
condition are used. Many of the garments depict Japanese themes and motifs,
such as cranes, Mt. Fuji, dragons or scenes from kabuki and others are
decorated with simple geometric patterns beautifully hand-woven. Most pieces
are the colors of earth, water & sky- subtle browns and grays as well as
blacks, blues and golds.
These garments make ideal holiday
gifts or souvenirs- they are distinctly Japanese yet unique and highly usable.
But starting at ¥4,000, they needn't be saved for gifts or special occasions. A
kimono vest, shirt or blouse can add colorful flare to jeans or a skirt and can
also elegantly compliment a business suit.
NOTE: we are no longer in business! These
pages are provided for reference and historical interest only. For remaining
garments still for sale, see www.danieleck.com “items for sale”
