For the past 15 years, I've been helping English speaking clients in the Tokyo area with a wide variety of computer related needs. I am comfortable working on both Mac and Windows machines, running either English or Japanese systems and software. Consultation by email is free. I'm happy if I can help you solve a problem yourself. If you need me to make a service call to your home or office, the charge is ¥6,000 per hour plus a transport fee. For more details of my rates and conditions, click HERE. Some special discounts are also available.
Some examples of the things I do:
- set up internet connections
- upgrade internal components such as hard disks or memory (RAM)
- recover data lost in a crash or accidentally deleted
- set up a home network with two or more computers sharing an internet connection
- advise and assist with the purchase of new (or used) computers or peripherals
- set up automated backup systems to help avoid data loss from a crash or disk failure
- teach clients procedures & techniques to use various software applications
- troubleshoot & repair systems which are not working properly
... and much more!
There are things I don't (or can't) do, too. For example, I don't do programming, or work with large corporate networks. I don't make service calls in the evening (though I do on weekends and holidays). I don't do soldering or take apart laptops.
I don't act as a middle-man, or accept outsourced jobs, or have any connection with any shop, company or organization. If you hire me to help with your computer issues, what you see is what you get- just me!
