Hi! I’m Daniel Eck. Here is some information about me.

I was born in 1960 in Chicago. At the age of seven I moved to Whitehall, Michigan, graduating from Whitehall High School in 1977, then majoring in English education at Michigan State University in East Lansing. I got my B.A. from MSU in 1982 with a teaching license.

A year after finishing college, I moved to Tokyo, Japan to teach English. And that’s what I continue to do, now 25 years later and having spent more than half of my life living in Japan!

My wife Reiko and I celebrated our 10th anniversary last year. We live with our three Bengal cats, Pico, Caramelo & Bunuelo.

I currently teach English at Tokyo Jogakkan, one of the oldest private schools for girls in Japan. I teach in the middle school and high school, grades 7 ~ 12.

I also do freelance personal computer support, helping Tokyo area English speakers with their Mac and PC needs.

Until 2005, I was producing my own line of fashion garments, using recycled vintage kimono material, under the brand name “daniel eck tokyo.”

As of summer 2008, my latest project is designing jewelry, mainly using amber and gold.

I’m a keen cyclist and ride about 7,000 km per year.

You will find out much more information about me if you explore this website.
